Residential Blower door airtightness testing

Aerotight are one of the largest residential blower door testing companies in Australia. We have tested hundreds of houses for airtightness and offer a wide range of services so that our clients get the best results. Currently the main mechanism for energy efficiency is the NatHERS energy rating system developed by the CSIRO. This method is a prediction on how energy efficient a home will be based on a simulation of the drawings, orientation and the materials to be used in the construction. All homes need to achieve 6 stars before building is commenced. At the end of the project there is no testing or modelling to prove that it actually is energy efficient. A blower door airtightness test is the perfect way to bridge this gap. Setting a permeability requirement for your home enables you to have evidence based proof, in the form of a blower door test, that your homes is the best quality and highest efficiency it can be. We are not talking about Passive House airtightness Setting an airtightness target and having a blower door test conducted at the end of your project, regardless of the number will improves the quality of construction because the level of construction needs to be at certain level so it actually passes. Often if a home test above a permeability of 10m3/h/m2 there will be clear non-conformances with the National Construction Code, which will need to be rectified by your builder. Book your test HERE
